VIRAT's internship program nurtures future thinkers and changemakers by providing exciting opportunities for students and early-career professionals within its ongoing projects. The internship engagement will benefit interns not only to work with a scholarly, diverse team to learn nuances of grassroots societal perspectives but also gaining practical real-world research experience through community engagement.

Application Process

VIRAT accepts internship applications throughout the year from both Indian and international undergraduate and graduate students (Master's and Ph.D. level). The processing of applications is contingent upon project availability, and the nature and duration of the internship will be determined by the specific project.

The 'VIRAT - Center for Capacity Building' oversees the internship process through the 'VIRAT Internship Committee (VIC),' which is responsible for evaluating applications and coordinating all related procedures. Each applicant is subjected to a rigorous screening process, typically requiring approximately two weeks. Prospective interns are requested to submit their applications via the link provided below.

Duration

Minimum Duration: 3 to 4 weeks. ('Research interns' are encouraged to work for a minimum of 3 months; 'Societal Systems & Outreach' activity interns suggest a minimum of 2 months).

Maximum Duration: There is no maximum duration is suggested, however intern progress will be thoroughly reviewed every three months.
